2013 holihealth fundraising
MS Society of Canada and the BC SPCA
holihealth is committing 100% of profits generated from holihealth products sold to 2 foundations very close to our hearts; the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society and the BC SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
We acknowledge the numerous foundations and organizations that all need our support and funding and encourage you to find one to contribute your time, energy and/or financial resources to as part of a vital and balanced community life.
Our story for supporting the MS Society of Canada:
Last year I had the pleasure of getting to know a wonderful woman who was in the late stages of MS (Multiple Sclerosis). She had been diagnosed over 25 years ago and never once stopped talking about all the things she would do when she was well.
We had long visits talking about food and nourishment discussing how various nutrients can heal the body from within. Even when all her food had to be blended smooth, she would savour the flavour of cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy. She particularly liked salmon bisque made with coconut milk. We shared a love for good, healthy food that tasted great.
Even though her mind was working so hard on getting well, her body was failing her. She never once complained. Time spent with her brightened my day; she always greeted me with a big, sunny smile and reminded me how blessed I am to have a body that works.
My friend recently lost her battle with MS and although I miss her terribly, I know she is at peace.
I will be supporting the MS Society of Canada through financial donations as well as fundraising and riding my bike in this year's MS Bike Tour on September 22, 2013.
Our story for supporting the BCSPCA:
I have always felt love and compassion for all animals.
My pets have been extraordinary gifts in my life.
Ideally all companion animals will have ‘forever homes’, but until that is possible organizations like the SPCA do a tremendous service in not only housing, feeding and looking after stray and unwanted animals as well as in their neutering and spaying programs.
My hope is the SPCA and other animal shelters will be a person’s first stop when they are looking for a new pet.
There is always a perfect pet looking for you.
